The Winnisimmet Regional Opioid Collaborative (WROC) is a regional partnership of four communities-- Chelsea, Revere, Saugus and Winthrop-working together to prevent opioid abuse & overdose. The WROC invests in quality strategies that have potential to create policy, systems, and environmental changes.
The WROC was formed after being awarded the Massachusetts Opioid Addiction Prevention Collaborative (MOAPC) Grant Program is funded by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS) to address the issue of opioid use and abuse, and fatal and non-fatal opioid overdoses in Massachusetts.
After a community-wide assessment, the WROC developed a strategic plan which includes four regional strategies, including the Caring Collaboratively Web Portal. The Caring Collaboratively Subcommittee who developed this portal is comprised with a caring group of individuals who really hope you will use these resources early and often. They could help you avoid what some of us have experienced with Substance Use Disorder both personally and professionally.
We know that seeking help and navigating the system, especially when in crisis, can be a scary, stressful, confusing, and time-consuming task. Many of us have been in your shoes. Fortunately, there is help and hope. Individuals and organizations that will understand; we would help you in a heartbeat if only given the chance.
We’ve tried to provide well-vetted and science-based resources for prevention, treatment, and recovery to help save lives and help families heal. We recognize the complexity of this disease, and there are many paths to getting well. We hope this portal will offer assistance in determining the resources that’s right for you.
